Although very similar to the NBX 100, the V3000® communications system is a highly contained phone switch with robust call-processing features that will support a suite of telephony applications over your local and wide area network (LAN and WAN). Designed for small offices of typically 15 users, but expandible to support midsize businesses and branch offices with up to 250 devices per location. The V3000 features fourth-generation 3Com NBX (R4.4) system software that simplifies third-party applications integration, enables seamless multisite intra-company dialing and toll-bypass applications, and supports VPIM voice message exchange between sites. The V3000 solution brings you cost-effective access to enterprise-caliber communications, easy-to-use features, intuitive Web browser–based administration, and an open architecture for straightforward applications integration. To meet your organization’s specific needs, the 3Com V3000 Communications System offers a range of hardware components and software licenses. Standard features include:
- V3000 Supports up to 15 phones, with expandibility up to 250.
- 4 central office (CO) line interface built in.
- The self-contained unit takes only 1U of rack space.
- Ensures high system availability with the Wind River VxWorks real-time operating system (also used in pacemakers and artificial hearts), so server and PC downtime does not impact your telephone service
- Has powerful call-processing features built in: voice mail, automated attendant, hunt/call groups, call detail reporting, computer telephony integration (CTI), PC-based visual voice mail/email clients (IMAP4), and more
